We love St. Augustine Beach. Best said, it’s our happy place. We’ve been coming here for years. The area has so much to offer – great beaches, great climate in the early spring/late summer time frame, wide range of restaurants from reasonably priced beach food, to the higher end linen napkin places, to one of the best sushi restaurants we’ve been to in a very lone time.
The area also offers a wide range of campgrounds near, across and even on the beach. As with any RV travel, do your research to see which campground offers the amenities and beach feel you’re looking for. Regardless of the campground selected, this area offers some of the best summer camping values in Florida.
The area has a different feel than many beaches, yes laid back, very friendly and a place where family young and old can be comfortable.
Going to the beach is one of our favorite activities and the St. Augustine Beach is one of our favorites. From the deep sandy beach, great water temperature and reasonable waves and you can still drive your vehicle in certain areas. Caution though – the lack of rain in the spring left this years beach drive lanes very difficult and the sugar sand can sink a non-four-wheel vehicle in a matter of seconds.
