A great way to spend a beautiful October day is at the Hiawassee Mountain Fair. The fair is located on the edge of Chatuge Lake in the mountain community of Hiawassee, GA. On this day, we were able to enjoy the visit with the many crafters selling unique household items, custom knives, leather and much more. Plenty of food vendors offered a reasonably priced lunch. Every day in the fall, the Hiawassee Mountian Fair promoters provide a music venue twice a day and on our visit we were able to enjoy a local favorite, Raven & Red and nationally renowned, Clair Lynch.
The Hiawassee Mountain Fair has done a great job acquiring and restoring much of the old historic buildings for the surrounding area. There are numerous 100+ year old log cabins and a school house, old saw mill, quilters, soap makers, blacksmith and even a working moonshine still.
The Hiawassee Mountain Fair offers a great October visit with the bonus of music entertainment.
As always, I Love RV Life, Jerry
